 Focusing your attention on pain,
 will make it more intense

One day, having pinched myself, I wanted to evacuate the black ball that appeared at the end of my finger. I proceeded to gently slice the skin with a razor blade. The more I concentrated on the operation, the more the pain worsened. But I continued, marveling at the thickness of the skin. When, finally, the little drop of blood spurted out, I was sweating!

I learned from this lesson that focusing on pain multiplies it.
